NEW HAVEN, Vt. – Twenty-one people from 14 countries across the globe are going to become U.S. citizens during a ceremony at Beeman Elementary School in New Haven.
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services says U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Colleen A. Brown will administer the Oath of Allegiance to America's newest citizens at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Vermont elementary school.
The new citizens are from Bhutan, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Czech Republic, Fiji, India, Netherlands, Philippines, Kenya, South Korea, United Kingdom and Venezuela.
The ceremony is being held at Beeman Elementary School as a way to provide the opportunity for local students to experience the process that people go through to become U.S. citizens.
