The family of a Colorado extreme sports enthusiast who went missing in the Swiss Alps has called off their search more than a week after his disappearance.

The Daily Camera reports that Harrison Fast, of Boulder, had been speed flying in Switzerland on March 26 when the group he was with lost sight of him amid bad weather. Speed flyers run or ski down slopes and use parachutes that let them fly fast and close to the ground.

Fast's relatives and friends have been searching for the 28-year-old on foot and with drones, which have helped due to the rough terrain.

The family says on a Facebook page dedicated to the search, which has raised $70,000, that they plan to return to the area and continue their efforts at a later date.
