The owners of a duplex in Texas said Tuesday that a demolition company mistakenly tore down their building after it barely survived a tornado the day after Christmas.

WFAA.com reported that the duplex’s owners were waiting for possible FEMA assistance due to the damage from the storm. The report said Billy L. Nabors Demolition was supposed to tear down a home on the next block.

“How do you make a mistake like this?” Lindsay Diaz, one of the duplex owners, asked the station. “I mean, this is just the worst.”

The demolition company unltimately told WFAA it was "not a big deal." Diaz filed an information report with police to document the incident.

“That’s what their job is -- to wreck it in demo, and they really wrecked my life,” Diaz said.
