A college in New York says a student from Massachusetts died after falling from a roof at a party in Newark, Delaware.

Skidmore College President Philip Glotzbach identified the student in a statement Sunday as 20-year-old Willem Golden. The Cohasset, Massachusetts, native was a freshman hockey player at the college.

Newark police say officers called to a house near the University of Delaware campus Saturday found Golden unresponsive after a fall from the roof. Golden was taken to a hospital, where he died. Police say it's unclear why Golden was on the roof or whether alcohol was a factor in the fall.

The News Journal reports (http://delonline.us/1o1ds6x) the house isn't a registered fraternity house, but the University of Delaware chapter of Sigma Pi previously advertised an event at the home.
