Police are investigating a report of rape of a student at a prominent private school in the nation's capital.

Police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck confirmed Friday that a female student at Sidwell Friends School reported that a male student forced her to have sex Wednesday afternoon at the exclusive Quaker school attended by the children of many of Washington's elite, including the daughters of President Barack Obama. It was not clear where on campus the alleged incident occurred.

An incident report notes that the students had a previous sexual relationship. Sternbeck says the students are both in high school.

Sternbeck says police are investigating, but no evidence has been provided to police that shows a rape occurred.

Associate Headmaster Ellis Turner said in an emailed statement that it is the school's policy to cooperate with investigations, but it doesn't comment on such investigations.
