Baltimore police say a man suspected of shooting two elderly siblings who were walking to a corner store has been arrested in North Carolina.

Police spokesman T.J. Smith says in a news release Friday that 36-year-old Carl Cooper was arrested in Fayetteville by U.S. Marshals. He is awaiting extradition to Maryland to face charges including attempted murder.

The 90-year-old woman and her 82-year-old brother were each shot in the leg on Feb. 22 in southwest Baltimore. Police say the victims were not the intended targets.
