A military official says shots were fired at a base in Virginia, but no injuries have been reported.

Senior Airman Brittany Murphy said an unknown number of shots were fired outside the Soldier and Family Readiness Center at Joint Base Langley-Eustis near Hampton about 11:30 a.m. Friday. She said security forces are on-site, but officials don't believe there is an active shooter.

The base was put on lockdown but officials later reported on the base's Facebook page that it has been lifted.
