The big Fox News debate is tonight in Iowa. Donald Trump won’t be there.

Trump appeared on O’Reilly last night, and refused to reconsider his decision to boycott the debate tonight.. the final GOP debate before the all-important first-in-the-nation Iowa caucuses.

Larry Sabato.. a well-known prognosticator from the University of Virginia’s School of Politics says Trump and Clinton will win the caucuses.

New NBC News/WSJ/Maris polls of IA, NH and SC show Trump winning all three for the GOP side.  In Iowa, Trump has a 7 point lead over Cruz.

Among Democrats, Clinton leads Sanders in Iowa by three points. In NH, Clinton loses by 20 points to Bernie Sanders.

In SC though, Clinton leads Sanders 64 to 27%. Trump has double digit lead in SC too.

New ABC News/Washington Post polling nationally shows Clinton leading Sanders though her lead has shrunk.

There are reports the campaign of one-time front-runner Ben Carson is in disarray.

Will Bernie Sanders go negative? The New York Times today reporting the Vermont Senator has produced two ads that could run in Iowa in the closing days of the race there. One is upbeat and positive, but the other attacks Hillary Clinton over her ties to Wall Street.

Ammon Bundy called for an end to the Oregon occupation of a federal nature refuge.  He’s asking his supporters to “please stand down.” The FBI reports 3 protesters turned themselves in after Bundy and several protesters were arrested Tuesday night. A spokesman for the group was shot and killed in the confrontation Tuesday night. Details remain sketchy. 11 have been arrested so far. We’ll explore it with our legal panel.

Today is the 30th anniversary of the Challenger shuttle disaster. All seven astronauts onboard were killed just over a minute after the launch of the Space Shuttle Challenger.
