All staff and patients of an Illinois medical center were safely evacuated after police responded to reports of an "active shooter" Monday afternoon, MyStateLine.com reported.

Streets around Crusader Community Health Clinic in Rockford, Ill., were cordoned off by police after area employees reported that a suspect was firing shots on the second floor of the clinic.

Gordon Eggers, the clinic's CEO, told MyStateLine that all staff and patients had been evacuated by 4:20 p.m. local time.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

Rockford police told the station the shooter, described as a white male in his 30s, was still inside the clinic, but was not considered a threat to the public.
