At least 10 people were injured when a boat exploded off the coast of Maryland Saturday.
The Maryland Natural Resources Police Public Information Officer Candy Thompson said the explosion occurred at around 6 p.m. at the Spring Cover Marina in Solomons Island.
All of the injured were transported by ambulance to area hospitals due to the stormy weather in the area. Most of them were taken to the Washington Hospital Center Burn Unit, according to MyFoxDC.com.
The Solomons Volunteer Fire Department said the 38-foot cabin cruiser was fueling at the dock when the boat was ignited. The fire caused injury to 10 people, including tow who were transported to the local ER for minor injuries. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
None of the injuries appeared to be life threatening.
The Maryland Natural Resource Police along with the fire marshal and DNR police are assisting in the investigation.
