Video shown Friday captures an accused burglar bursting into tears when a judge catches him off guard and asks him if they had gone to a Miami Beach middle school together.

“Oh my goodness, oh my goodness,” Arthur Booth sobs in recognition, according to the video, which aired on Fox & Friends.

“I’m sorry to see you here,” Miami-Dade County Court Judge Mindy Glazer says to Booth as he collapses in a heap. “I always wondered what happened to you sir.”

Glazer remembered Booth from Nautilus Middle School.

Booth appeared before the judge in prison garb at a video bond hearing Tuesday. He was in court after being arrested the previous day and charged with several crimes in connection with a Hialeah break-in.

The video shows Booth sobbing uncontrollably as Glazer addresses the court with only nice things to say about him.

“This was the nicest kid in middle school,” the judge says, according to WPLG-TV. “He was the best kid in middle school. I used to play football with him, all the kids, and look what has happened.”

"I'm so sorry to see this," she adds.

A cousin told the station Booth’s promising future was destroyed by drugs and crime.

Before the video ends Glazer tells Booth she hopes he can get his life back on track.

“Good luck to you sir,” she says. “I hope you are able to come out of this ok and just lead a lawful life."

She set Booth’s bond at $44,000.
