A Pennsylvania high school student who dressed as a homeless man for a drama assignment was so convincing that he fooled school officials — and ended up getting suspended for two days.

Senior Michael Bodomov (BAH'-dah-mohv) received an assignment last month to create and act as a character for a day at Mount Lebanon High School, just outside Pittsburgh.

Bodomov showed up at school dressed up in multiple coats, with ink smeared on his face and plastic bags for socks, and school officials didn't recognize him.

The situation escalated when Bodomov didn't immediately break character. Police were briefly called, and he was suspended for not identifying himself to officials.

Bodomov's mother, Marina, says the school was just being safe in a strange situation. She isn't upset that they suspended him.
