Authorities allege a 13-year-old North Texas boy facing a capital murder charge used a bowling ball to fatally beat a 5-year-old boy.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports (http://bit.ly/125rh1E) that authorities say the teen has confessed to the beating death.

The confession was made public during a detention hearing Friday in Fort Worth.

The teen's name is being withheld because he's a juvenile. He was arrested Thursday in the death of Sida Osman. Because he is younger than 14, the suspect is not eligible to stand trial as an adult.

Sida's body was found Wednesday afternoon near his apartment, after he had been reported missing a day earlier.

Police have said the teen became irritated with Sida and hit him multiple times.
