The University of Rhode Island announced on Twitter that its lockdown Thursday has ended and classes will resume on Friday. There was no gun or active shooter at any time, the school said.
Earlier, state police told Fox News they received a call that a male knocked on the door of the school's auditorium and said, "I'm a good guy and I have a gun."
The campus was then put on lockdown and authorities searched the campus.
