A man accused of using a stun gun on a pit bull that fought with his dog at an Ohio park and then fatally shooting it has been arrested.

Cincinnati resident Robert Marx appeared in court Wednesday on charges of knowingly shooting a gun within city limits and criminal damaging. Convictions on both counts would carry a maximum of nine months in jail.

Marx was released on bond and placed on electronic monitoring. He hasn't returned a message seeking comment.

A judge ordered Marx to stay away from the park and the couple who owned the pit bull.

Kaitlynn Hornsby and Silas Parker say their pit bull was being playful with Marx's dog when the other dog bit it. They say their pit bull bit back and Marx killed it within seconds.
