Students and faculty at a California high school will reportedly remember a beloved art teacher who was fatally struck by a train this weekend.

Fox 40 reports that Kathy Carlisle was hit by a train Saturday afternoon near Elvas Avenue and 65th Street in Sacramento, near St. Francis Catholic High School, where she worked. Carlisle was taking pictures at the time, something she loved to do, the station reports.

“Having her here on campus for the girls created such life and vitality,” school president Margo Reid Brown told the station.

Classes at the school will be canceled Monday to allow students to attend  a prayer service on campus. School officials have asked for privacy while mourning Carlisle.
