CAMDEN, N.J. – Authorities say a masked man entered a parked car in a New Jersey city and opened fire on the five young adults inside, killing the driver and a passenger and wounding the other three.
Prosecutors say that when the shooting stopped late Saturday in Camden, one teenage girl managed to escape the car. But the gunman pushed aside the driver's body, took the wheel and drove off with the others still inside. He drove to a nearby dirt road, and a 20-year-old woman jumped out and ran off.
The gunman pursued her but couldn't catch her, and he ran away. He remains at large.
Prosecutors say it's not immediately clear what sparked the shooting in a city that consistently ranks as one of the nation's most dangerous.
The wounded victims remained hospitalized Sunday.
