Authorities say Desmonte Leonard was in the Montgomery County jail Wednesday awaiting transfer to Auburn. He was scheduled to appear in court Thursday morning for an arraignment on three murder charges. The dead included two former Auburn football players, and a current player was among the injured.
Police Chief Kevin Murphy says using social media to try and track Leonard brought mixed results.
He says legitimate tips did come through, while some of the information was posted to mislead officers.
