ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Bikers on an Orlando-area trail made a grisly discovery Sunday when they found two burning bodies near a bridge, myFOXorlando reports.
Police say they aren't sure if the two victims were dead before they were set on fire or if they were burned alive. They also said it will take some time to identify the bodies and determine the cause of death due to the condition of the bodies.
The discovery stunned local residents, as the trail is a popular spot for biking, running and walking.
“It freaks me out, people are cycling on this path all the time, and running and walking,” said Rich Baldwin of Winter Park.
Police say they have no leads, and urged the public to come forward with any information.
“Something like this doesn’t happen without someone knowing, and we’re asking the community to help us,” Captain Angelo Nieves of the Orange County Sheriff's Office said.
