One suspect is dead and another at large after a robbery inside a New York City pharmacy, MyFoxNY.com reports.

Two people were taken the a nearby hospital for observation after suffering injuries that were not life-threatening during the robbery.

The men allegedly demanded money, Oxycotin and Percocet, but were confronted by two police officers as they fled who were responding to a 911 call.

One of the suspects then surrendered, but the other ran and was fired on by the officers, police said.

The suspect, identified as Rudolph Wyatt, 23, sustained gunshot wounds to the head and shoulder, according to NYPD Paul Browne.

The other suspect managed to get away in the chaos and remains at large, MyFoxNY.com reported.
