A Houston man shot and killed his 12-year-old daughter and wounded his wife and 14-year-old daughter before killing himself at their home, according to police.

Houston police spokesman John Cannon said the incident happened at the house in southwest Houston about 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

The dead girl was shot multiple times, while her older sister was shot in the neck. The 43-year-old mother was wounded in the back and paralyzed. She and her older daughter were taken to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition.

Police were dispatched to the condominium complex after the 43-year-old woman contacted 911 and reported that she and her children had been shot, Fox affiliate KRIV-TV reported.

When police arrived at the apartment, they found the body of a 47-year old man on the front lawn with a gunshot wound to the head.

"We do have witnesses out here who said they saw the man walk out here and shoot himself. We recovered a 45-caliber semi-automatic out here at the scene," Cannon said.

Adam Dalami, who owns a convenience store across the street, told the Houston Chronicle that he saw the man step onto the lawn of the family condominium, put the gun barrel against his chin and pull the trigger.

A 15-year-old girl who lives in the complex told the station that she often saw the couple arguing.

"I get off the bus and see arguments all the time. Like hear arguments; one day the wife got mad because the husband's friends would come over and drink or something," the girl said.

Cannon said no motive has been determined.
