A south Florida mom is accused of trying to sell her 8-month-old son for $7,000, police said.

Kenia Bosque, from Opa-locka, was arrested and booked into Miami-Dade jail Sunday, charged with an adoption violation, The Miami Herald reported.

Bosque was caught after an informant told police that he arranged to meet the 30-year-old mother to buy her baby. Officers also recorded four phone calls between the pair.

An undercover agent arranged to meet Bosque as part of the baby-selling deal, and although she did not attend that meeting police said they had enough evidence to arrest her.

Bosque's arrest form states, "Bosque placed [her son] in harm by attempting to sell the child, which would cause emotional trauma to the child."

"We are just so glad we were able to obtain this information in time to intervene before anything could happen to endanger this child," Monroe County sheriff Bob Peryam told the newspaper.
