BLANCHESTER, Ohio -- Authorities in Ohio evacuated a two-block area when a man found a box of ammunition and explosives buried in his backyard.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports 37-year-old Adrian Ayers was digging in his yard in Blanchester Sunday afternoon when he came across a metal box that contained bullets and sticks of TNT.

A bomb squad was summoned from the county sheriff's office in Cincinnati, 30 miles away. The squad took the explosives back to the Cincinnati area for disposal.

No one was hurt. The evacuation was voluntary.

There was no immediate word on where the box had come from or why it was buried in the yard.
