NAPLES, Fla. -- Collier County authorities say a man knocked his mother unconscious because she didn't want him to practice martial arts inside the house.
Jail records show 27-year-old Cory William Morrel was being held Saturday on $10,000 bond on a battery charge. His court date is Sept. 20. It's not known if he has an attorney.
A sheriff's office report says deputies responded to the home Friday in reference to a woman who was kicked in the head and knocked unconscious for five minutes. Morrel's mother seemed disoriented and nervous when deputies arrived.
The Naples Daily News reports that Morrel told deputies he accidentally kicked a wall while practicing martial arts in the living room, angering his mother. He later called 911 when his mother became unconscious.
