Police have released new photos in the investigation of a missing Indiana University student, taken from a security camera just before she left for a night out and disappeared hours later.
The Bloomington Police Department released an image Wednesday of Lauren Spierer leaving her Smallwood apartment complex in downtown Bloomington, wearing a white v-neck shirt and black leggings.
Spierer, 20, was last seen about 4:30 a.m. June 3, walking toward her apartment after a night of partying with friends.
Police also revealed two surveillance video images of a pickup truck that may have a connection with Spierer's disappearance.
Police said the truck is a mid-2000s shortbed four-door Chevrolet Silverado or Colorado, and was spotted driving around a block near where Spierer was last seen.
Bloomington police Capt. Joe Qualters said Wednesday that investigators want to talk with anyone who was in the truck.
Qualters said the images show writing on the back doors and rear panels, but investigators haven't been able to read it. The truck is also described to have distinctive wheels and a short bed liner with possible equipment in the back.
Anyone with information on the vehicle or owner is urged to contact the Bloomington Police Department at 812-339-4477 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
