Twitter Feed F-Word Gets Chrysler Employee Fired

A social media representative for Chrysler has been fired after posting a message on Twitter that included the F-word, reports.

A tweet reportedly appeared on Chrysler's account Wednesday that seemed to refer to the employee's rough drive to work.

The tweet said: "I find it ironic that Detroit is known as the #motorcity and yet no one here knows how to f---ing drive."

The message was removed from the Chrysler account, which has more than 8,000 followers, according to the station. But the message was quickly retweeted numerous times across the social media website.

Chrysler officials apologized for the message in a statement and said the New Media Strategies employee who wrote it has been fired.

"After further investigation, it was discovered that the statement was issued by an NMS employee, who has since been terminated," the auto giant said. "Chrysler Group and its brands do not tolerate inappropriate language or behavior, and apologize to anyone who may have been offended by this communication."

New Media Strategies, or NMS, is the company responsible for Chrysler's social media efforts.
