Massive Renewed Search for 7-Year-Old Kyron Horman as New 'Case Details' to Be Released

Detectives investigate the disappearance of 7-year-old Kyron Horman from Portland, Oregon. Horman disappeared on June 4. He was last seen by his stepmother walking toward his classroom at school.

Investigators in Oregon renewed their massive search this week for missing 7-year-old Kyron Horman, The Oregonian reports, and plan to release further "case details" on Wednesday regarding a report that another person was in the car with the second-grader's stepmother when she dropped him of at school the day he disappeared.

While Multnomah County Sheriff's spokeswoman Lt. Mary Lindstrand gave no further details than the fact that police are following up on leads and tips, investigators did question neighbors in an attempt to determine whether another adult was in the white pickup truck with Terri Horman on June 4.

Officials plan to discuss the details at a Wednesday news conference in an effort to obtain the public's help in determining the person's identity.

Meanwhile, a Multnomah County grand jury continues to hear testimony from people who worked out at the same gym as the missing Skyline school second-grader's stepmom.

Searchers are looking east of Skyline Elementary School in a rural area of northwest Portland.

They are also questioning people in the area about DeDe Spicher, one of Terri Horman's friends, who was gardening the day Kyron disappeared.

Spicher abandoned her gardening work on June 4 at a 40-acre property about four miles from the school, from about 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m., according to information provided by her boss and another worker at the private garden, The Oregonian reported.

Nearby resident James Emerson allowed searchers to scour his six-acre property. The entire area is thick with heavy vegetation and rugged terrain.

"We had not seen either of those people or that vehicle," The Oregonian quoted Emerson.

Other residents in the area were given a questionnaire asking what they had seen that day, specifically if they had spotted Spicher, Terri Horman or the white truck. Their photos were on one side of the questionnaire.
