Police are searching for a man who is accused of escaping a Rhode Island state prison after impersonating someone else, MyFoxBoston.com reported.

Officials say 21-year-old Nayquan Gadson fled the Adult Correctional Institute in Cranston on Tuesday after posing as another inmate who was being released on bail from Prison’s Intake Service Center.

Department of Corrections Director A.T. Wall told MyFoxBoston.com he has ordered an investigation into the escape plot, and he has insisted on a review of procedures to prevent future incidents.

Gadson was awaiting trial on several charges including possession of a firearm without a license.
