Catholic Student Ministry at the University of Virginia says a Mass will be held in honor of slain lacrosse player Yeardley Love on Friday.

In an announcement on its website, CSM says the noon Mass at the UVa Chapel will not be a funeral or the university's memorial service, but a chance for Catholics at Virginia to pray for Love.

Love's battered body was found in her off-campus apartment early Monday. George Huguely, a member of the men's lacrosse team, has been charged with first-degree murder in the case.

The service will be held on the same day that Love's family will receive friends at a funeral home in Maryland, and one day before she will be laid to rest at the age of 22.
