Marking the tenth anniversary of its annual Future Concept series of superyacht designs, Netherlands-based firm Feadship has unveiled its latest notion, the aptly named Choice.

Described by the company as the “most audacious blueprint to date,” the 244-foot-long concept boat comprises a mothership, a detachable beach house, a two-person drone, and two 80-foot tenders, offering guests plenty of ways to enjoy their time on the water.

“As well as the wealth of choices Feadship clients have before and during the building process, our aim with this new concept is to give even more options once they are on board,” explains Feadship senior designer Ruud Bakker.

Adding to the self-sufficient scheme is the Choice’s Feadship Independent Control System (FICS), which utilizes sensor technology and wave radar, weather forecasting, and traffic information to provide nearly autonomous sailing. “We haven’t quite reached the autopilot stage yet, but the way this solution communicates with the environment is optimized to the highest degree,” Bakker says.

“FICS supports captains and frees up their time for other things that make the guests’ stay on a Feadship even more pleasant.”

The sleek ship, which can reach speeds of almost 17 m.p.h., also features small details that really set it apart. Each tender can operate as an independent miniyacht, topping out around 29 m.p.h. and containing a double suite, single cabin, lounge, and Jacuzzi.

The hull, meanwhile, not only houses the drone and amphibious beach house but also features a deck lounge and motion-controlled pool and can cruise along at up to 12 m.p.h; its electric-propulsion system allows for quieter sailing and silent anchoring, and when docked can be charged by the tenders.
