Media Shows Struck Israeli Warship Returning to Port

JERUSALEM — The Israeli warship struck by a Hezbollah-fired missile, killing two aboard and leaving two others missing, returned to its home port in Haifa on Saturday, according to Israeli TV footage.
The army would not confirm if the ship was arriving, but the Saar 5-class missile ship, named the "Spear," could clearly be seen on television sailing into port.
The ship was severely damaged Friday night after it was struck by an Iranian-made, radar-guided C-102 missile.
A military official said the ship is one of the most technologically advanced in the Israeli fleet, boasting an array of Harpoon and Gabriel missiles, along with a system for electronically jamming attacking missiles and other threats.
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the situation, said the missile detection and deflection system was not operating apparently because the sailors did not anticipate such an attack by Hezbollah
