Four Wildcats earn AP All-Big 12 first-team honors

Four Kansas State players made The Associated Press All-Big 12 team, it was announced Friday.

Another two Wildcats were second-team choices, as were four Kansas Jayhawks.

The first-team selections from K-State were offensive tackleDalton Risner, defensive tackleWill Geary, cornerbackD.J. Reed and kickerMatthew McCrane. The second-team choices wereall-purpose backD.J. Reed and punter Nick Walsh.

The Jayhawks' second-team selections were tight endBen Johnson, defensive endDorance Armstrong Jr., defensive tackleDaniel Wise and linebackerJoe Dineen Jr.

Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield was the unanimous pick asAP Big 12 offensive player of the year. He also won that honor in 2015 and is this year'sAP player of the year.
