You wouldnt expect to see a no-hitter at Coors Field from a Rockies rookie against the Cubs but thats what almost happened Wednesday. And Carlos Gonzalez did his best to keep the dream alive.

With 22-year-old German Marquez absolutely dealing in the sixth inning, CarGo laid out to make a tremendous diving grab in right field to preserve the no-hitter.

Alas, reigning NL MVP Kris Bryant busted up the no-no with a leadoff double in the seventh inning. But Marquez still tossed eight innings of shutout ball to pick up his first win of the season. The NL West-leading Rockies improved to 22-13, while the slumping Cubs fell to 17-17.
