BRISTOL, Tenn. -- On Friday, several Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series drivers expressed their belief that they would not be able to get any practice at all in on Saturday at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Instead, the bad weather that was in the forecast stayed away long enough for them to complete not only one but both of the scheduled Saturday practices with Kyle Buschs No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota being fastest in both.

Buschs top lap in Happy Hour was clocked at 128.583 miles per hour.

Our Toyota Camry has been really strong ever since we unloaded, said Busch, who also recorded the best 20-consecutive-lap average.

He was followed on the speed chart by Cup rookie Daniel Suarez (128.262 mph), Kasey Kahne (128.253 mph), Chase Elliott (128. 185 mph) and Jimmie Johnson (128.168 mph).

The final Cup practice before Sundays Food City 500 (live on FOX, with pre-race coverage beginning at 1:30 p.m. ET) was halted because of light rain with 18 minutes left in the session that was scheduled for 55 minutes.

But the delay did not last long and then the drivers were able to finish up.

The only driver to experience trouble in the session was Chris Buescher, who spun out early on and suffered light damage to the right-rear of his No. 37 JTG Daugherty Racing Chevrolet after brushing the outside wall.
