Coach Steve Kerr called the Golden State Warriors' post-break schedule "the most insane schedule I've ever seen in all my years in the NBA", before it tipped off Thursday night against the Clippers.

After home games against the Clips and Nets, the Warriors play eight games in 13 days: an East Coast trip to Philly, Washington, Chicago, New York and Atlanta; back home to host the Celtics, then back-to-back prime-time road games at Minnesota and San Antonio.

"Here you go, Golden State, here's your marquee game against the Spurs on a Saturday night on ABC and it'll be your eighth game in (13) days with 10,000 miles -- like, it's insane," Kerr told reporters Thursday. "So I've got to be very, very careful about our players' welfare and make sure they're fresh and not too fatigued, because we know that can lead to injury."

The good news for Kerr and the Warriors: They entered Thursday with the best record in the NBA at 47-9. The teams they face in the next two weeks entered with a combined record of 284-278. The Warriors have won nine straight against the Clippers. And after the finish their "insane" stretch, they get three straight at home against the Sixers, Magic and Bucks (combined 67-103).
