Brad Keselowski's No. 2 Team Penske Ford was the fastest in Saturday's final NASCAR Sprint Cup Series practice for this Sunday's Bojangles' Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway.

Keselowski turned his top lap at 174.649 miles per hour.

Rounding out the top five on the speed chart were Kurt Busch (174.649 mph), Jimmie Johnson (174.019 mph), Kasey Kahne (173.656 mph) and Paul Menard (173.454 mph).

Greg Biffle also was pleased with the performance of his No. 16 Roush Fenway Racing Ford in the Happy Hour practice, as he led all drivers in average speed over 10 consecutive laps. His fastest single lap of 173.234 mph ranked sixth overall on the speed chart.

Qualifying was scrapped and an extra Saturday practice added to the schedule when all Friday track activity was cancelled because of inclement weather brought on by Hurricane Hermine.

That meant the lineup for Sunday night's race was set by owner's points. Current points leader Kevin Harvick is on the pole.

Some drivers wondered how much the extra practice -- held during the heat of the day when the race will be run mostly at night -- actually will matter.

"Whatever I am on the chart -- 22nd or something -- I'm going to say it has nothing to do with it," said Carl Edwards after the first practice Saturday morning. "It's going to be a lot different (in the race). "

Edwards, the defending race winner, did improve from 22nd in the first practice to seventh by the second, with a top lap of 172.826 mph.
