(STATS) - Holy Cross is anxiously awaiting a 2016 season that offers great promise under veteran coach Tom Gilmore.

But the Crusaders also are taking a look to the future as Monday they announced their schedules from 2017 to 2021. Each season will include five home games and at least one game against an FBS opponent.

The 2017 season will kick off Aug. 31 with Holy Cross' first game against an FBS program since 2002 when the Crusaders visit Connecticut at Rentschler Field in East Hartford. Their games at Fitton Field will be against New Hampshire and Monmouth and fellow Patriot League members Lafayette, Colgate and Georgetown.

The future FBS games include Boston College in 2018 and 2020, Syracuse and Navy in 2019, and Connecticut again in 2021.

The Crusaders finished 6-5 last season for their first winning record since 2011. Senior quarterback Peter Pujals returns this season as a fourth-year starter.
