Top basketball recruit Michael Porter Jr. announced his commitment to the Washington Huskies on Friday.

This, just two months after his father, Michael Porter Sr., was hired by head coach Lorenzo Romar as an assistant. Romar is also the younger Porter's godfather.

"Talking to my dad and Romar, I knew it was where I wanted to go," Porter told ESPN. "I made it clear I wanted to be one-and-done if possible and [my dad] told me it was an ideal spot to do that. I trust my dad and I trust Coach Romar."

The 6-foot-9 forward, largely considered one of his class' top recruits, recently earned co-MVP honors at the Nike Peach Jam and is set to play with the U.S. Under-18 national team in Chile.
