The Minnesota Twins brought back a heavy hitter into their lineup and sent another they hoped would provide some punch to the minors.

Miguel Sano was activated from the disabled list Thursday after spending the last week on a rehabilitation assignment in Rochester.

To make room for Sano on the roster, Byung-Ho Park was sent to Triple-A.

Park was brought over from South Korea in the offseason with a four-year, $12 million contract, with the expectation he would add some power to Minnesota's lineup. Park did hit 12 home runs, but was batting just .191 with a .275 on-base percentage. He had particularly struggled in June, hitting only .136 with a .303 slugging percentage, striking out 27 times in 66 at-bats.

Sano could slide into Park's spot as the team's designated hitter. He is batting .235 with a .341 on-base percentage and .458 slugging percentage in 50 games with the Twins. He has 11 home runs after hitting 18 in 2015, his rookie season.
