Bryce Harper got a night off Tuesday to rest his sore right knee, which was hit by a pitch in Monday's game. Turns out, the Washington Nationals didn't need him in a 5-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies.

Not surprisingly, however, the reigning NL MVP tried to talk his way into the lineup during a hilarious exchange with manager Dusty Baker.

"I asked him was he limpin' or pimpin'," Baker told reporters, according to The Washington Post. "He said he was pimpin'. I said that looked like a limp to me."

Thus, Harper stayed on the bench for only the second time in the Nationals' 53 games this season. Washington will play at Philadelphia again Wednesday night and has a day off Thursday, so it's possible Harper will sit until Friday as a precaution.

Unless he can convince Baker that he is pimpin'.
