What Kyle Busch has accomplished since NASCAR return one year ago

Hard to believe, but May 13th marks the one-year anniversary of Kyle Busch returning to NASCAR competition. And what a return it's been.

Busch missed the first 11 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races of 2015 after suffering a compound fracture of the lower-right leg and a mid-foot fracture of the left foot in a head-on crash in the season-opening NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Daytona International Speedway.

Despite missing all that seat time, Busch made a huge comeback, winning five races and his first Cup championship last year.

And he hasn't missed a beat this year, either, leading the Cup drivers with three wins in the first 11 races of 2016. All told, Busch has won eight of the past 32 races, a winning percentage of 25 percent. By comparison, six-time champion Jimmie Johnson's career winning percentage is 14.9 percent. Richard Petty won 16.9 percent of his starts and David Pearson 18.3 percent.

So, happy anniversary to Busch, who earlier this month celebrated his 31st birthday and next week will celebrate his son Brexton's first birthday. Yeah, May is a big month for the Busch family.
