Alexis DeJoria raced to the No. 1 qualifying position in Funny Car at zMAX Dragway Saturday in the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals.

Coming off a victory in Las Vegas, DeJoria claimed her first No. 1 qualifying position of the season and fourth of her career with a track-record time of 3.934 seconds at 321.04 mph in a Toyota Camry.

"Tommy (DeLago, crew chief) got on the radio and said, 'Well, we didn't pick up as much as I wanted to," DeJoria said, smiling. "Another consistent .93. I didn't think we were going to stay No. 1. There are a lot of great cars out there. Fortunately, we were the best one today. I'm just proud of my guys."
