Barcelona suffered a tough loss at the hands of Atletico Madrid on Wednesday, eliminating them from the Champions League. It was just the latest in a rough stretch for the team, which have seen their La Liga lead cut to just three points, too.

Naturally, some of the players were taking it tough. And Dani Alves took it especially ... well, something.

That is Alves in a wig, pretending to be his girlfriend. He was sending himself a cheer up message, saying:

"Hello! Joana Sanz here. I'd like to send a message to my darling as he's down in the dumps. Honey, don't worry, it's just a game of football. Life goes on. You're worth much more than that. OK? I love you loads, I love you my darling. I love you!"

So that is definitely a thing that happened.
