Josh Bailey scored with 18 seconds left on the clock in overtime, Jaroslav Halak made 31 saves, and the New York Islanders rallied for a 2-1 victory over the Calgary Flames on Thursday night.

Thomas Hickey also scored as the Islanders improved to 3-0-0 on their season-high seven-game stretch of road games and remained three points behind the second-place New York Rangers in the Metropolitan Division.

Jiri Hudler scored for Calgary, which fell to 1-5-1 in its last seven. Joni Ortio, making his second straight start, stopped 32 shots while falling to 0-5-1.

Bailey's 11th goal came when he was set up alone at the side of the net on a perfect feed from John Tavares.

Until that point, the best chance of the extra period was when Calgary's Mark Giordano rang a shot off the goal post with a minute remaining.
