Tennessee senior hybrid defensive end/linebacker Curt Maggitt announced Saturday he would not be pursuing a potential sixth-season of eligibility on Rocky Top. Citing the foundation of the Volunteer football program being set, Maggitt clearly feels his work as a Volunteer has been done.

The foundation is set... Tennessee football is back... Thank you so much for the memories the past 5 years Tennessee! I will truly miss everything about being a UT football player! I will always be a VFL! -AlphaMaggitt

The sixth season was a possibility due to the fact Maggitt missed the entire 2013 season following knee surgery and missed all but two games of the 2015 season after injuring his hip against Oklahoma in the home opener.
