Jeffery, 25, has struggled to stay healthy this season. He has been dealing with calf, groin and hamstring injuries since training camp, costing him a total of seven games. In the nine games in which he did play, Jeffery caught 54 passes for 807 yards and four touchdowns.
Goldman, a second-round rookie, will miss his first game of the year in Week 17. He started 12 games as the anchor of Chicago's defense, making him a successful draft pick. The 332-pounder recorded 22 tackles and 4.5 sacks before injuring his ankle last Sunday.
Although Goldman has a bright future with the Bears, Jeffery is about to reach the end of his rookie contract and will be free to sign with another team in free agency next spring.
