LOS ANGELES (AP) Starting pitcher Brett Anderson has accepted a $15.8 million qualifying offer from the Los Angeles Dodgers and will remain with the team in 2016.
Starter Zack Greinke and second baseman Howie Kendrick declined qualifying offers Friday and remain free agents.
Anderson was 10-9 with a 3.69 ERA this season in his healthiest year since 2009. The left-hander made 31 starts and threw 180 1/3 innings, earning himself a $2.4 million performance bonus in addition to his $10 million salary.
''Here's to being back in Dodger Blue for at least another year,'' Anderson tweeted.
If Greinke or Kendrick signs a major league contract with another team before June's amateur draft, the Dodgers would receive a compensatory draft pick at the end of the first round. They still can re-sign with Los Angeles.
Greinke opted out of a contract that would have paid him $71 million over the next three years. Kendrick had a solid season after being acquired from the Angels last December.
Anderson joins ace Clayton Kershaw and Alex Wood as three-fifths of the team's rotation. Hyun-Jin Ryu and Brandon McCarthy are coming off surgeries. Ryu is likely to be ready for the start of next season, but McCarthy won't return until later.
