Schalke hand Stuttgart fifth loss in a row

Schalke piled the misery on Stuttgart with a 1-0 win at the Mercedes-Benz Arena to inflict a fifth defeat in as many games on the Swabians.

Leroy Sane scored the only goal of the game, but the real hero of the match for the Royal Blues was their goalkeeper Ralf Fahrmann.

He made save after save to deny Stuttgart, who ended up with over 25 shots on goal with Schalke not fashioning even half as many.

Yet it was the visitors who came away triumphant with a win which takes them up to fourth and leaves Stuttgart bottom without a point, together with Borussia Monchengladbach.
