Recruiting the Dallas area has given the 2015 Baylor Bears three critical components to their dangerous passing attack.

The Bears are off to another high-flying start to the season at 2-0 and are producing nearly 400 passing yards a game. Baylor hasn't played stiff competition yet, and that trend will continue this Saturday with Rice coming to town. But there's no reason to believe Baylor won't continue to rack up yards and points against Big 12 opposition just as it has the past few seasons when Robert Griffin III and Bryce Petty were throwing to their own speedy group of receivers.

Now it's Seth Russell's turn behind the wheel. The Dallas Morning News explored the origins of Russell and his, so far, two favorite receivers.

Russell is a junior from Garland, just east Dallas, where Baylor coach Art Briles saw potential in the 6-foot-2, 220-pounder who wasn't exactly a superstar prospect as a high school senior. So far this season, Russell has thrown for 708 yards and nine touchdowns.

His favorite targets have been junior speedster Corey Coleman and senior Jay Lee. Coleman hails from the north Dallas suburb of Richardson. He has 11 catches in two games for a whopping 360 yards and five touchdowns. His four touchdown receptions last week against Lamar were a school record. He earned Big 12 co-offensive player of the week honors for his six catches for 182 yards.

Lee, the lone senior receiver on the team, is from one of the Dallas area's newer powerhouses, Allen, located north of Dallas. Lee leads the Bears with 12 catches for 181 yards and three touchdowns.
