Tennessee gained a commitment from a huge area of need as four-star receiver prospect Brandon Johnson became the 16th pledge to Tennessee's class Wednesday. Johnson had thought to be a heavy lean toward Miami but the pull from Rocky Top was just too much to overcome for the 6-foot-3 receiver.
"I just felt like the future was bright at Tennessee under Butch Jones," Johnson said to 247Sports. "I also am looking forward to playing for (receivers coach) Zach Azzanni."
Johnson currently holds offers from Arkansas, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, Clemson and Miami among many others. Johnson clearly has the genes to be success on the field from his father, former major league baseball player Charles Johnson. The elder Johnson played in the majors for over a decade for six different clubs.

The Vols now have three receivers committed to their 2016 recruiting class and may only look to add one other prospect to the group after signing Preston Williams and successfully converting Jauan Jennings from quarterback to the surprise of fall camp at receiver.
